Welcome to VirtualCity. VirtualCity is a content-rich prototype designed for engineering education and design. Numerous engineering topics are discussed in VirtualCity. Each topic has a specific simulation associated with it. VirtualCity also investigates using the Internet to design a distributed collaborative design environment. In this environment, geographically dissipated users can collaboratively design and analyze the same object through the Internet.

To use the full features of this web site, you are encouraged to install all of plug-ins on the left list. These include Shockwave, VRML, Java 1.3, and Java 3D 1.2.1 OpenGL version. Shockwave plug-in has an auto installation feature and you only need to follow the instructions. VRML plug-in is a little bit tricky. You must select the unsupported version if you are using IE 5.0 and Netscape 4.7. The Java plug-ins are mainly for distributed collaborative design environment.
